Which rental branch fits your move in Nuremberg?

Nuremberg has central branches as well as dedicated commercial-vehicle sites. For a larger move, a specialist van/truck branch is usually the more useful reference point.

Nuremberg has no low-emission zone – but local access restrictions still matter

The current Bavarian Environment Ministry overview lists low-emission zones only in Munich, Augsburg and Regensburg. Nuremberg is therefore not a city where a rental van needs a green emissions sticker simply to enter the city.

That does not make every central route unrestricted at every time. The Burgviertel, for example, has a daily night-driving ban from 10 pm to 5 am, with access during those hours limited to authorised users. Pedestrian zones and other restricted areas may also require a separate permit for a move.

Moving in Nuremberg: arrange no-parking and loading exceptions early

Nuremberg’s public-road service allows moving households to request temporary no-parking restrictions as well as exceptions for loading/unloading or entering a pedestrian zone. Depending on the address, both the parking restriction and a separate access/parking exception can matter.

The city recommends applying as early as possible; the application should generally arrive no later than one week before the planned sign-placement date or the day the exception is to apply. A location plan is required for a no-parking request and vehicle-specific exceptions require the registration number. Fees and sign costs depend on the specific case.

Which vehicle class suits a move in Nuremberg?

Nuremberg does not change the cargo volume you need. Choose the class from the actual inventory, longest item, payload and interior dimensions rather than room count alone.

Then add the local check: will the vehicle height fit the yard, garage or access road, is there enough manoeuvring space, and does the chosen branch support that exact class?

One-way rental and return: define the exact branch

For a move to or from Nuremberg, returning the van to another branch can be useful. Availability and any surcharge depend on the provider, tariff and specific vehicle.
